Her move to France in the 1920s marked the beginning of an illustrious career, where she became a star of the Parisian cabaret scene and was soon christened the "Black Pearl" and "Bronze Venus."

Our Ms. Baker Candle is inspired by the vibrancy of her life. The robust base of oud capture the opulence of her performances at the famed Folies Bergère, while the while the floral touch of geranium reflect her resilience and unwavering spirit. Elemi, with its resinous and spicy nuances, embody her dynamic stage presence and her tireless energy which also saw her aiding the French Resistance during World War II as a spy and later, championing civil rights back in the U.S.

1. Only burn on level, heat resistant surfaces.
2. Keep lit candles away from drafts & other flammable materials.
3. Never leave a candle unattended; and always keep out of the reach of children and pets.
4. Lit candles are very hot so never touch the candle jar while the candle is lit.
5. Keep candle free of dust & foreign materials like matches & wick trimmings.
6. Our candles come pretrimmed for your first burn, light wick from one edge with a lighter or a match.
7. Burn for at least 2 hours on your first burn.
8. Do not burn continuously for more than 4 hours.
9. Trim your wick between each burn, by removing all the ash. This can be done by pinching the ash off, with wick trimmers or nail clippers.
10. If the height of the flame exceeds 1 1/2 inches or if candle starts to smoke blow out candle, let wax cool. then trim wick. be sure to remove all wick trimmings before relighting.
